* There are no announcements at this time regarding the roads.

* Load restrictions were removed on April 29, 2024 for Gordon/Barrie Island.

Our roads are vital for our safety, so our road department is diligent and always on the road making sure they are safe and functional. Our staff is dedicated to the maintenance of our roads. If you have any concerns or want to speak with our road department, please call the office at 705-282-2702.

The Gore Bay Airport is located on Highway 540 near the Barrie Island causeway.

Earth Day

Public Health Sudbury & District (PHSD) is promoting that people with private water supplies, both surface water or a well, check and do regular maintenance on their water systems. This means test your drinking water every year.

FIRE PERMITS are available at the office any time during the day from 8:30 to 4:30. If you want to have a fire you need one. No exceptions. And they are free.

The Gore Bay Fire Department serves the Municipality of Gordon/Barrie Island and the Town of Gore Bay. The Fire Chief is Mike Addison.

The golf course is located in the Municipality of Gordon/Barrie Island. This nine-hole course is open from May to October. Also, there is now a driving range to practice your shots before hitting the course. Saving balls takes practice!
