Upcoming Events in our Municipality

This year's annual Christmas Market at the Gordon Community Centre will take place on November 30th at 10am. Last year's market was a great success so this year we will be putting on the market in the same location and serve a hot lunch as well. Register at the Municipal Office at 29 Noble Sideroad to confirm your table at this year's market! You can email the office at adminoffice@gordonbarrieisland.ca to register, or call the office at 705-282-2702 to register. Network with the community and enjoy some hot cider, and sell your wares to your fellow islanders. See you there!

Due to the overwhelming success of last year's competition, this year's DECORATE YOUR GATE CONTEST is happening again this fall. Register at the Municipal Office by emailing us at adminoffice@gordonbarrieisland.ca, or call us at 705-282-2702 before October 12th. Judging will happen during Thanksgiving Weekend. Prizes will be awarded for the top three entries! Give it a try! Decorate your gate!

Two participants at this year's Julia Bay BBQ that took part on August 23, 2024 on the Barrie Island causeway. It was a hot one, but that was why the food and music were served on the sandy beach. A few brave ones swam out the to the floating dock in the distance.

Earth Day

Public Health Sudbury & District (PHSD) is promoting that people with private water supplies, both surface water or a well, check and do regular maintenance on their water systems. This means test your drinking water every year.

FIRE PERMITS are available at the office any time during the day from 8:30 to 4:30. If you want to have a fire you need one. No exceptions. And they are free.

The Gore Bay Fire Department serves the Municipality of Gordon/Barrie Island and the Town of Gore Bay. The Fire Chief is Mike Addison.

The golf course is located in the Municipality of Gordon/Barrie Island. This nine-hole course is open from May to October. Also, there is now a driving range to practice your shots before hitting the course. Saving balls takes practice!
