Two participants at this year's Julia Bay BBQ that took part on August 23, 2024 on the Barrie Island causeway. It was a hot one, but that was why the food and music were served on the sandy beach. A few brave ones swam out the to the floating dock in the distance.

* The next annual event to happen in the Municipality of Gordon/Barrie Island is the Christmas Market. Please check back here for updates for the 2024 Christmas Market at Gordon Hall. The tentative date for this year's market in November 30th, 2024.

* Please check in with us to see if we will be hosting a DECORATE YOUR GATE CONTEST for 2024. Last year's efforts were really something.

Earth Day

Public Health Sudbury & District (PHSD) is promoting that people with private water supplies, both surface water or a well, check and do regular maintenance on their water systems. This means test your drinking water every year.

FIRE PERMITS are available at the office any time during the day from 8:30 to 4:30. If you want to have a fire you need one. No exceptions. And they are free.

The Gore Bay Fire Department serves the Municipality of Gordon/Barrie Island and the Town of Gore Bay. The Fire Chief is Mike Addison.

DOG REGISTRATION

Please visit our Municipal Office to purchase your dog license per By-law 2020-05.

We are proud to support the Manitoulin Northshore Victim Service based in Little Current. Please visit their website at https://www.mnvictimservices.ca/

The golf course is located in the Municipality of Gordon/Barrie Island. This nine-hole course is open from May to October. Also, there is now a driving range to practice your shots before hitting the course. Saving balls takes practice!
