Please be advised that The Municipality of Gordon/Barrie Island supports the Town of Gore Bay and the Sudbury and District Health Unit statements to encourage people to be responsible and to practice safety measures as directed by the public health. Seasonal Residents note the precautions and information regarding the strain on the medical facilities on Manitoulin Island with an increase in population.

The Town of Gore Bay encourages those who have main homes elsewhere in Canada or in the U.S. to NOT come to Manitoulin Island during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Please stay where you have access to urban hospitals.
The Island's hospitals are not equipped to handle the extra influx of population on top of the permanent year-round residents.
Let's work together to keep everyone safe.
Please continue to be responsible and practice the direction provided by Public Health.
