Seasonal Editions
In an effort to keep our taxpayers informed and up to date with developments and events in the municipality, every season a newsletter is published here on the website. Announcements and other information from the municipal office is included in these newsletters. They are free to download. All feedback is welcome.
Community Hall Rentals
Covered in our newsletters are the latest Gordon Hall rentals. For example, we host the Manitoulin Quilters twice a month at the hall, as well as the Manitoulin Coin Club. There have been other special events, such as an artist workshop over the weekend run by well known artist Barry Bowermann.
November 2023 Newsletter
Restarting the publication of the newsletter, this edition was the first. Included is an introduction to many of the new staff that have joined the Gordon/Barrie Island team. Also, other announcements from the office of Carrie Lewis, Chief Municipal Officer for the municipality.
Community Events
The culture & recreation committee undertakes several events during the calendar year, and these events are covered in our newsletter. Check out the culture & rec page on this website for the latest, or read out newsletters as they inform our residents of these events. Most are annual events, such as the Kite Festival and the Julia Bay BBQ.
